What Is Proximity Key?
by Chuck Bolton -
A proximity key (also known as Intelligent Key, Smart Key, Keyless Go or Push Button Start.Keyless Access.Keyless Entry) is a little device that enables a keyless entrance and engine igniting in your vehicle.
When you’re within the relevant frequency range, the keyless access device transmit combination of audio and infrared waves with your auto to open and lock doors and trunk and even to crank the car engine with the key in the pocket.
30 years ago, Mercedes-Benz was the first car-maker to implement this technology in the market.
As for today, motor vehicle owners can benefit push button start ignition and keyless access devices on most vehicle models and enjoy functionality such as power windows, remote start, alarm, mirror adjustment and many more.
